That's a good time right there.

you rode 3000 miles on a Gold wong?
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

I guess it doesn't count if you take your car. Adventure Driving doesn't have the same ring to it...

I have literally flown it actually. Took it to a motorcross track (hwy 47 mx) once and the time that I didn't spend shitting myself, I spent flying through the air.ropingk wrote: sweet looking bike bet it will fly
It's kind of overkill though. It's a 400cc 4 stroke. I'd be happy with a 250.

looks like its set up to take some rough landing

Everything about it is heavy duty compared to your average off-road motorcycle. 400 cc's is a lot for a dirt bike, more common are bikes in the 250 cc range. It's not that I wanted one so big, just that I got a deal I couldn't pass up on it.
The average jumps I was comfortable taking it on sent me about 10 feet up and about 20 feet from takeoff to landing and it was smooth as butter.
I don't want to ever experience bottoming the shocks out, because to do so on this bike would take a serious impact. I've accidentally driven over brake drums that were hidden by tall grass and didn't even feel it. I only realized after when I went to investigate the metal object I saw in my path.

I'm a huge 2 stroke fan... here is my little TS125 I restored over last winter... its a blast around town and on the trails over at Hercules Glade. I prefer the small 2 smokers for the harder offroad trails.
RE: Exploring/Adventure riding
Nice!
I have actually never ridden a 2stroke dirtbike but I know a lot of people prefer them.
My 2stroke experience is limited to ATV's: Blasters and Banshees.

2 strokes can be an addiction... even have a couple hopped up 2-stroke mopeds that are a BLAST to ride around town. It's a shame we can't buy any larger 2 stroke street bikes anymore. The 70's era Yamaha RD's are my personal favorite, the powerband is wicked!

Re: Exploring/Adventure riding
My Super Tenere... my first big bike as I have always been kinda anti big bike but I wanted something that I could take on very long trips and carry 40lbs of camera gear. I still love the smaller bikes more though
