Aussies invade the US!

Post by Nivelo »

Yep we are coming.. l am not sure of the numbers yet but we are looking to sweep the US by storm hehehe..

Anyway l bought myself a map today and l see you guys are in the south.

I plan to make my way across the states probably from west to east.

So there just wanted to let you know... now l got to read the other forums on the states in particular to see what there is to explore there :-)

Yes l am coming to OPEX or what ever it may be called this time round.

OPEX - Office Product Expo - basically a cover name for urban exploration convention.
Extrememly good from what l hear...

A few entries back I wrote about a convention of explorers, to take place somewhere on the North American continent. Two cities asked to host the convention, and, after careful consideration a city was chosen.

That city is Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and the gathering will be mid-summer. We are confident that the local explorers there will be gracious hosts and will organize an event on par with last year's. If you would like to know more about the event, such as the specific date or how to contact an organizer, please e-mail ninj@infiltration.org.

It is important to me that next year's convention be either in central or western Canada, or somewhere in the U.S. If you have a large group of explorers in your city, seriously think about putting in a bid next year.

Well, be sure and let us know well before you're due, especially if you're planning on coming through here. I could think of a few awesome places to show you. Nothing like the drains you guys have, though.

Ha guess what!

We just had a HUGE weekend of camping, partying and abseiling that very funnel.
MOre than 40 people turned up from all over australia and spent a massive weekend together just exploring.

I am just about to scan in some pictures so... l will post them here in a minute.

I just stacked my mates car there too :-(
New headlight, bumper, guard + radiator... yeah it was a bit of a downer.

Yay for big funnels!

I don't think any picture will ever do that drain justice. Where's it at in relation to Sydney?

In relation to sydney it is a good 5-6 hour drive south.
It's closer to melbourne actually probably 4.5 hours.

The thing about this overflow (cause its not actually a drain) is that yu follow the highway for ages then you go onto a a dirt track thats windy and small hence why l stacked the car!

Unfortunately l had to go buy a radiator and parts during the daytome to get the car back on the road and didn't get any daytime shots that do it justice :-(

Oh well l can always go back...
