Good GPS?

Post by Sertile »

Hey, I'm looking at getting a GPS for when I get home. Cobcob suggested it when I got us lost looking for Winoka Cave, and it's something I really should have invested in a long time ago.

I want something reliable, but it doesn't have to be super-fancy. I just want to be able to get accurate readings and plot waypoints. It doesn't have to have a color screen or anything. I'm on a pretty limited budget right now, so I'd prefer to keep it under $200 if at all possible. Does anyone have any recommendations?

My brother in law has this one but he paid a hundred for it. It seems to work great. I have a Garmin Etrex they are about the same but the explorist has built in maps which can be nice, and this is a good price too.

Thanks for the tips! I've been using a Garmin at work, and it seems pretty decent now that I know what I'm doing. Also note, when I said "under $200" I meant "WAY under $200," I just didn't want to sound cheap :P
