So what's the explanation for the 2 off-shoots? Do you have one?

It is basicly a giant surge tank. The large rectange structure in the top middle to the left of the bucket is a filter housing. The surge tank is for when the rainfall GPM exceded the filter GPM capacity.

Probably a gravity drain, if my poor, shitty memory is correct. Aren't most drains gravity drains? Sorry, this isn't my bailiwack so please forgive me.

There is a 6" elevation change in the pad from the bottom of the photo to the top.
